The honest traffic read
Ravet's whole traffic life is decided by two junctions. Mukai Chowk, where the Katraj-Dehu bypass meets the road down from Kiwale, is the one that fails first: it is the gateway for everything heading to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and it backs up from about 8.30am and again from 6.30pm. Bhakti Shakti Chowk at the Nigdi end is the second, and it carries the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway traffic plus the Purple Line extension works. Inside Ravet the Aundh-Ravet BRT road moves reasonably because it is wide, but the Sant Tukaram bridge over the Pavana and the single approach to Walhekarwadi are the pinch points, and the last two kilometres to several towers are still builder roads that end in gravel.
When the streets fill up
Ashadhi Wari is the big one here, because the Sant Tukaram Maharaj palkhi sets out from Dehu, roughly five kilometres up the road. Pimpri-Chinchwad police closed the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway from Central Chowk to Bhakti Shakti on 8 and 9 July 2026 and banned heavy vehicles between Dehu Kaman and Bhakti Shakti from 5 July, so for the best part of a week Ravet's northern exits are either shut or crawling. Ganeshotsav ends at the water: PCMC listed Ravet among the 104 idol-immersion sites it prepared on the Pavana, Mula and Indrayani in September 2026, which means immersion-day crowds and a closed riverfront approach on the last two days.
