The honest traffic read
Dhanori's problem is that its roads were never finished. The Development Plan road between 509 Chowk and Jakat Naka has been incomplete for thirty years, and PMC's own standing committee member Suhas Tingre put peak-hour journeys on Dhanori Road, Porwal Road and through Munjaba Vasti, Kalwad and Khese Park at 30 to 45 minutes, with the city engineer blaming land acquisition — owners wanting cash rather than TDR (Pune Pulse, 5 August 2026; Punekar News, 2 August 2026). Everything then has to funnel out through Vishrantwadi chowk, which is itself a flyover and grade-separator site until end-2026. The Dhanori–Lohegaon main road went under water again after heavy rain on 6 July 2026, with residents blaming uncleaned drains and missing stormwater capacity (Pune Pulse, 6 July 2026) — that stretch is the one to check before signing anything.
When the streets fill up
Ganeshotsav is the festival with a documented police footprint next to Dhanori: the visarjan advisory is written for Yerwada and Vishrantwadi, and Wikipedia's Vishrantwadi entry treats Dhanori as one of the areas Vishrantwadi encompasses, so the Gunjan–Parnakuti–Tarakeshwar route to the Chima ghat on Nagar Road and the Shadal Baba to Tarakeshwar regulation are what Dhanori's traffic runs into on immersion day (Punekar News, 5 September 2025). No immersion point or procession route inside Dhanori itself is named in that advisory and none was found, so that part is a recorded gap rather than a claim. Ashadhi Wari closes the Alandi Road junctions and Kalas Phata on Dhanori's northern shoulder between 11 and 18 July (PuneNow, Ashadhi Wari Palkhi 2026 advisory), which matters because Kalas adjoins Dhanori and Alandi Road is the way out of it.
