The honest traffic read
Model Colony's internal grid of quiet, tree-lined lanes stays calm, but its edges are Pune's worst: Ganeshkhind Road along the north-east carries the Line 3 metro construction squeeze from Sancheti Chowk to University Chowk, and FC Road on the other flank jams every evening. Cut-through traffic seeps into Lakaki Road and Bhandarkar-side lanes at peak. Parking inside the colony is still civilised by Pune standards.
When the streets fill up
Ganeshotsav here is residential-scale — society mandals rather than the giant city ones — but Dagdusheth and JM Road crowds are only a couple of kilometres away and immersion nights snarl the whole Shivajinagar edge. The June-July Palkhi passage through neighbouring Shivajinagar closes the old highway for a day per palkhi. Diwali is felt mainly as FC Road shopping traffic.
