When the streets fill up

Ganeshotsav is not a minor event here — the Morya Gosavi temple at Chinchwad Gaon is a 15th-century Ganapati shrine and the Chinchwad Devasthan's Bhadrapada yatra sends the Mangalmurti palkhi out of Shri Mangalmurti Wada through Gandhipeth, Power House Chowk on the Pimpri-Chinchwad Link Road, Bhatnagar and onto the Mumbai–Pune highway, staying away for about ten days before returning. Ganesh visarjan closes Ahimsa Chowk to Chapekar Chowk, Dalvi Nagar Bridge to Chapekar Chowk, Valhekarwadi T-junction to Chapekar Chowk and Chintamani Chowk to Valhekarwadi River View Chowk, with restrictions on the Chapekar flyover, from mid-afternoon until past midnight on immersion days. Maghi Ganesh Jayanti brings a second yatra in the Magh month, when the Chinchwad deity travels to Siddhatek and Morgaon and back, so the temple quarter fills twice a year rather than once. The Ashadhi Wari palkhis pass through the Chinchwad police division in early July, with Dange Chowk and Bhel Chowk used as diversion routes.
