The honest traffic read
New Link Road is the spine, and the Oshiwara bridge plus the police station junction are the two places that seize up, particularly in the evening peak toward Goregaon. The bus depot stretch and the turn-offs to Mega Mall and Infiniti Mall add slow mall traffic on weekends. Cutting east to S.V. Road via the narrow link lanes is rarely faster than staying on Link Road.
When the streets fill up
Ganesh visarjan is the sharpest disruption: processions from Oshiwara and Goregaon mandals run down New Link Road toward the Versova and Juhu beaches, closing lanes for most of the day and night. Navratri brings large garba events at nearby grounds with mall parking spilling over. Around Diwali the mall stretch on Link Road is effectively gridlocked every evening for a fortnight.
