The honest traffic read
Nerul sits between Palm Beach Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway, so a jam on one immediately loads the other. Highway backups between Kharghar and CBD Belapur regularly reach Nerul's junctions, and the Thane-Belapur Road corridor on the other side sees long queues of heavy vehicles heading toward Panvel. Palm Beach Road is the faster route north to Vashi outside peak hours, but it clogs once trucks are allowed back after the evening ban lifts.
When the streets fill up
For Ganeshotsav the traffic police declare no-parking zones in Nerul to keep immersion processions moving, and immersion traffic converges on the civic artificial ponds rather than the creek. The Sector 19A area around the local immersion point gets particularly congested on Anant Chaturdashi. Navratri dandiya nights and mall events at the Sector 40 end also pull evening crowds onto Palm Beach Road.
