Malad East sits on the Western Express Highway and the Kurar village junction is a chronic choke point, worsened by metro corridor works and pedestrian crossings. Pathanwadi Road, Dattapada and the Dindoshi stretch feed the highway through narrow lanes that back up from about 6pm. Getting west means the Malad subway or the Goregaon flyover, both slow in peaks and after heavy rain.
