Senapati Bapat Marg is one of Mumbai's busiest arterials and crawls in both office peaks, evening mall and restaurant traffic stacking outside High Street Phoenix and Kamala Mills. Currey Road bridge and N.M. Joshi Marg are the east-west pinch points; the mill-compound lanes are narrow with scarce parking on weekend nights.

During Ganeshotsav, Lalbaugcha Raja and the Lalbaug–Parel pandal belt sit immediately east; police divert traffic across the Lalbaug–Currey Road grid for aagman and visarjan, and the bridges become effectively impassable on peak darshan days.
