The honest traffic read
Kharghar's main artery is the Sion-Panvel Highway, and the stretch toward CBD Belapur is where the long snarls repeatedly form, including around the toll plaza. Heavy monsoon rain reliably gridlocks the same stretch, and incidents at the toll plaza back traffic up in both directions. The Navi Mumbai Metro line between Belapur and Pendhar is the practical way around the highway during peaks.
When the streets fill up
The ISKCON temple at Sector 23 in Central Park, opposite the golf course, draws thousands of pilgrims for Janmashtami and Shobha Yatra processions, and the Central Park Road approach is the pinch point. Dahi Handi crowds also gather near Central Park. Ganeshotsav immersion follows the artificial-pond arrangements, so processions converge on fixed sector points rather than dispersing.
