The honest traffic read
LBS Marg is Bhandup's only real through-road and it is saturated for most of the day, worst between Dreams Mall, Neptune Magnet Mall and Sonapur junction where mall entries, bus stops and right-turning traffic compete. The station road approach and the bridge choke badly at both peaks, and Jangal Mangal Road and Bhandup Village Road are narrow, shop-lined and frequently blocked by parked vehicles and handcarts. Getting across to the Eastern Express Highway means going via Nahur or the village side.
When the streets fill up
Ganeshotsav is the biggest disruption: Bhandup has a dense concentration of mandals around Sonapur, Bhandup village and Tembhipada, and immersion processions close sections of LBS Marg and Bhandup Village Road on the main days, with artificial ponds set up locally. Dahi Handi draws large govinda troupes onto LBS Marg and the junctions near the station, and Navratri garba at neighbourhood grounds keeps evening traffic heavy for nine nights.
