The honest traffic read
Kukatpally straddles NH65 (Mumbai Highway): the JNTU junction, the Malaysian Township signal by Forum Sujana Mall and the Kukatpally Y-junction are notorious peak-hour bottlenecks, with metro-pillar pinch points slowing the highway 9–11am and 6–9pm. KPHB's numbered road grid (Road No. 1 and the phase roads) distributes local traffic far better than most suburbs. Nizampet Road and Moosapet-side exits also back up in the evening.
When the streets fill up
Bonalu in Ashada (June–July) is celebrated strongly at Kukatpally's Mahankali temples with weekend processions and drum troupes on internal roads. Ganesh Chaturthi (Aug–Sep) is the peak disruption — hundreds of pandals across the phases, and immersion convoys joining NH65 towards Hussain Sagar over multiple days, slowing the highway badly. Bathukamma rounds out the season with nine nights of gatherings in KPHB's colony parks.
