The honest traffic read
Begumpet sits on Sardar Patel (SP) Road, the arterial between Secunderabad and Ameerpet, and peak-hour crawl at the Greenlands junction and Begumpet flyover is routine. The Prakash Nagar side stays calmer, but anything crossing SP Road at rush hour queues. The old Begumpet Airport boundary means limited north-south cut-throughs, funnelling traffic onto a few junctions.
When the streets fill up
Ganesh Chaturthi immersion convoys heading for Hussain Sagar pass along SP Road and the Tank Bund periphery in late September, with rolling closures on the final immersion day. Bonalu (July) brings processions at neighbourhood Mahankali temples but the disruption in Begumpet itself is modest compared to Secunderabad. Bathukamma evenings (Sept-Oct) fill colony parks and community grounds.
